Accessing Z1 Global TrustPoint via LDAP Interface

Arbitrary applications can search and retrieve X.509 certificates at Z1 Global TrustPoint via LDAP interface. The LDAP search is performed in the local database of the Z1 Global TrustPoint and also in the connected directories without any validation. Metasearch and online validation of certificates is currently provided by the manual search (public web interface) of Z1 Global TrustPoint and the webservice (C/C++ and Java Z1 Client APIs) only.

Parameters to access Z1 Global TrustPoint via LDAP are:

Server name: ldap.globaltrustpoint.com
Search base: dc=zertificon,dc=com

An exemplary configuration for MS Outlook is shown below:

  1. Click the File tab.

  2. Click Account Settings, and then click Account Settings…

  3. On the Address Books tab, click New….

  4. You are prompted to select one of two types of address books. Click Internet Directory Service (LDAP), and then click Next.

  5. In the Server name box, type ldap.globaltrustpoint.com, then click More Settings….

  6. You'll be informed that you have to restart Outlook in order for the changes to take effect.

  7. Click the Search tab, and type dc=zertificon,dc=com into the text field in the Search base box.

  8. Click OK, click Next, and then click Finish.

  9. The new address book appears as ldap.globaltrustpoint.com in the list of address books.

Searching for people in the directory is very easy. Start a new e-mail and click on the To button. Then click on Find. You can now enter your search criteria (only e-mail addresses allowed) and click Find now. This will show all the available results.
